Software for Sliding Key Joints according to DIN 6892

WN3 software calculates the load-bearing capacity of a sliding key joint in accordance with DIN 6892 (release 1998). The dimensions for the parallel key in accordance with DIN 6885 and ANSI B17.1, as well as material values for sliding key, shaft and hub can easily be taken from the integrated data base. The complete printout, table and drawings of the sliding key, shaft
groove and hub groove can be printed out.
Calculation
In pre-dimensioning the shaft diameter can be calculated from nominal torque, yield point of the shaft and hub material and application factor and, then an appropriate sliding key can be selected from the data base.
In recalculation, in accordance with DIN 6892, the following are taken into account: maximum torque, load distribution factor, adhesive force factor (for press fits), additional bending moment, load aligment change factor and load peak frequency factor. The support factor and hardness influence factor for shaft, hub and sliding key are automatically
selected from the data base by WN3. Safety margins against breakage due to maximum and equivalent torque for sliding key, shaft and hub are calculated.
Parallel Key Data Base
WN3's scope of delivery includes a data base containing all parallel key dimensions in accordance with DIN 6885 (pages 1, 2 and 3) and ANSI B17.1. The data base file in dbf format can be modified and extended as required by the user.
Material Data Base
The material for shaft, hub and sliding key can be selected from a data base with about 1000 material entries.
Printout
The calculation results can be printed out in a detailed printout or on a one-page excerpt.
CAD Interface
A true-scale drawing of the sliding key as well as section drawings of the shaft and hub with the appropriate key groove can be exported directly to CAD via the DXF or IGES interfaces, as well as a drawing table with the most important data.
HEXAGON Help System
For each input you can have a help text and auxiliary picture displayed. When limiting values are exceeded the program will display warnings and error messages. You can then view the error description with remedy suggestion in the Error-Info Window.

WN3 is a 32-bit application for Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, 7.
Scope of Delivery
The WN3 package includes CD-ROM with WN3 program, detailed user manual, application examples, input forms, license agreement for an indefinate period of time with update service.
